Man-Ghana 2009 comes off on Saturday

Accra, Oct. 22, GNA - The 2009 Man-Ghana body building competition comes off at the National Theatre on Saturday, 24th October.

The competition, which is expected to bring together 20 body builders from all over the country, will be under the sponsorship of the Ghana Bodybuilders and Fitness Association (GBFA), the National Sports Council (NSC) and courtesy of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The competition which is the first in eleven (11) years to be organized will be in four categories in the super heavy weight, heavy weight, middle weight and light weight and will be returning to the National Theatre.
The Event Manager, Yaw Asamoah of Creative Trends promised a night of glitz, style, physique, strength and attitude as well as attractive prizes such motor cycles, cash prizes and also an opportunity for the winner to represent Ghana in the African and world championship.
Mr Yartey, President of the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBFA) also assured fans of the sport of a great show piece which he said will attract a fee of only GHC25. He commended all the sponsors for coming on board such as Astymin and Apetamin, Saigon,at La Palm Casino, Royal Motors, Pleasure Condom, Ikann Fitness Centre, Joy FM, Hitz FM, TV3, GTV, Metro TV, Graphic Sports, Mirror and Graphic Showbiz for supporting the event.
In attendance will be members of the victorious 2009 Under-20, Federation of International Football Association, (FIFA ) World Cup, the Black Satellites together with highlife king -Abrantie Amakye Dede and Africa's lyrical giant - Sarkodie in a 120 minute performance.
Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBFA) is an affiliate of the International
Fitness and Physique Association (IFPA), International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) and the African Federation of Bodybuilding (AFBB). It would be recalled that the reigning champion, Kofi Salia, aka "Asasee" represented
Ghana last year at the West African event and came up tops.
