‘Tonga’ Music Video lands but was it worth the wait?

I guess there is a reason why Channel O and other African based music video platforms are filled with Nigerian music videos.

I must say I am utterly surprised by the ‘Tonga’ music video. For a start, Sarkodie and Joey B decided to release a video for their smash hit ‘Tonga‘almost a year after the song was released and had lost steam.

Considering the song was hugely popular, how does Joey B dare to release this inconsiderate music video for “Tonga”, arguably the biggest song of his career?

I am not sure what is up with our musicians, in this same vein Sarkodie released a relatively mediocre video for his ‘U Go Kill Me’ track. Is it that our directors lack creativity or are the musicians too broke to afford the charges of professionals.

One could be forgiven to think that after 11 month’s wait, the ‘Tonga’ video would breathe new life into the song and help elevate it as good music videos do; perhaps expectations for the video were too high.

This is a letdown for Ghanaian music. Sample the ‘Tonga’ video here.
