Kobby of Wutah fame promotes new album - 'God and Love'

Daniel Morris also known in entertainment circles as Kobby, formerly of Wutah fame, has released a new album filled with super soul-music.

The album called ‘God and Love’ has a mix of gospel songs, love tracks and some contemporary highlife tunes, according to the singer.

Kobby who was on ‘THE ZONE’ on Starr FM, Monday morning, told host Naa Ashorkor that the album features some of Ghana’s biggest artist including Kwame Zaggi and Guru.

He is confident the tracks will make an impact on people.

“I sing about pure and proper love and the fact that I am engaged to a great woman makes it easy… My worship songs are real and I know people will love it.”

This is the second album Kobby is releasing since he parted ways with his former Wutah team-mate Afriyie, in 2010.

The group separated just when they gained prominence on the Ghanaian music scene. They had many hit songs including ‘Burning Desire’ and 'Kotosa'.

There have been several calls for them to come back together, especially when their solo music careers have not made as much impact on the market.

Kobby, however, told StarrFMonline.com that made him a better person.

“Growing up in an average home and shooting into the limelight there was so much I didn’t know and there was so much more I had to force myself to learn. But after the break I had enough time to get to assess myself and I realised that I needed Jesus in my life,” Kobby noted.

He added that his new relationship with God influenced most of his tracks on the album.

“Ever since I got closer to Him, He has been taking me from grace to grace. One step at a time and it has been so amazing and fabulous," he opined.

Kobby had an album listening on Saturday, September 6 at the Plus 233 Jazz club and was supported by his fellow musicians Kwabena Kwabena and Samini.

One of the songs on this new album is entitled ‘Greed’ and it featured Guru.

Kobby said it was inspired by what the world taught him about people.
