Becca to Rock ‘N’ Rule with Glo

The hunky bodyguards detailed to ensure her safety as well as the swarming Nigerian press and top officials of telecommunications operator, Globacom gave young and hip Ghanaian songstress, Becca, a real star treatment when she visited Nigeria last week for the unveiling of the Glo-sponsored Rock ‘n’ Rule tour. Rock ‘n’ Rule is a big entertainment package which will take a collection of music and entertainment stars on a six-month tour of key cities across Nigeria.


Head of Public Relations at Globacom, Bode Opeseitan revealed that artistes for the tour, apart from Becca, include some of Nigeria’s top acts like D’banj, Sammy Okposo, Mode 9, Sani Danja, Wasiu Alabi , popularly known as Pasuma Wonder, Sunny Nneji, Original Stereoman and Ego.


“Renowned comedians including Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basket Mouth and Okey Bakassi will be available to add spice to the tour in the different locations while Africa’s biggest Dee-Jay, Jimmy Jatt, will rock Nigerians with style during this campaign,” Opeseitan added.


“These are West Africa’s best exports to the world of music and entertainment and Nigerians are in for a delightful experience when this campaign takes off in late October. The tour, which will incorporate a beauty pageant, is to provide an enabling platform for our youths to showcase their talents and assure all that they can indeed rule in their different spheres of life.”


He added that with the tour, Globacom was providing enough opportunity for Nigerians to relax and enjoy music and entertainment from some of the best acts that this generation is blessed with.


Emmanuel Ugoli of Glo’s corporate communications department, said that the tour would give variety to people who attend the shows as the artistes involved perform different genres of music include dancehall, fuji, R&B, folklore and progressive African fusion.


Becca, who been nominated for the Channnel O and KORA music awards to be held in October and December respectively this year, said she was extremely glad to be part of the Rock ‘n’ Rule tour.


“It will give me greater exposure to the big Nigerian market and I’m excited that it is being facilitated by a wholly-owned African company which wants to see African music promoted at the highest levels across the world.”


Becca’s latest work, a single called Fire, features Samini.
