Stars for Stars road show concert

The very foundation of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) was shaken when the giants in the Ghanaian music industry mounted the stage to deliver what made them the dons in the industry.

This was during the ‘Stars for Stars Road Show’ in aid of raising funds for the Black Stars and organized by Omanye Capital in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports and the Ghana Football Association.

The laudable event for the night started with a live band performance after which Chicago took over the stage with a splendid energetic performance. He did three of his old songs putting the audience into the ‘old hiplife days’ mood.

Right after Efo Chicago, Ebo’o mounted the stage to do what he knows best. He trilled the crowd with dancehall songs to the delight of his fans. Next was Tinny, who swept the audience off their feet with his performance. The biggest surprise for me was 4X4.  The duo which is made up of Captain Planet and Abortion took audience by surprise in their splendid suit outfit as they dazzled with their song “Hot Girls Dot Com” which rendered a rapturous noise from the crowd.

The ‘rap sofour’  I can say is really loved by Ghanaians as he got almost all the patrons in house to sing along with him as he performs.  His voice rang out clearly and strongly as he constantly moves to interact with the fans.

The “Best of the Life’s” artiste, Obour who performed this time without A.B Crentsil also give a good account of himself. After exploiting her vocal talent on the Mentor stage, Adez mounted the stage to play live to a band. The diva really proved herself that she has come of age when it comes to live performance which other artiste finds very difficult to do.

As if to saving the best for the last, MOBO award winner, Samini came on stage to put up a splendid performance and for the whole 30-minutes that he spent on the stage he kept the audience on their dancing feet with his songs. It was exciting to see DL on stage as he invited all the stars on stage to perform the Black star cheer songs.

The show for me was worth it course and I believe patrons also did have their monies worth as each was given a copy CD of the Black Stars Cheer Song Album.
