Oheneba P. K. announces his presence with “Full Stop” album

In just a month more, get ready for Connecticut’s Ghanaian based hiplife / highlife artiste to drop his newest album, “Full Stop”.


He is backed by some of the Ghanaian musicians settled in the states including his cousin and true blood, Morris Babyface as well as other guest appearances by Appeh (Danta), Abena Sarfo.


It’s no other than your boy, Oheneba P. K. who is definitely coming out harder than ever, giving the streets exactly what they’ve been waiting for!


As the newest signing to Priddae Productions, Oheneba P. K. has carved a niche for himself in the states.


He is heading to the Ghanaian music industry with songs like Full Stop, Wonn Mma Me Nka Bi, I Love you, Darling, Odo Power and I Do You Do.


Being born into a family of musicians, expect nothing less than straight heat from Oheneba P. K. as he floods the streets with his new album “Full Stop” from July 14th 2007.

Ghana Music.com: What’s the story behind the name Oheneba P. K.?

Oheneba P. K.: Simply means “Oheneba Poku” which is my real name.


Ghana Music.com: You said u were in Ghana some weeks back. What was your mission in Ghana?

Oheneba P. K.: I came to promote my album.


Ghana Music.com: In your own words ‘Who is Oheneba P. K?

Oheneba P. K.: He is a new hiplife / highlife musician. The youngest amongst 3 siblings, I have lived in the USA for over 8 years. Presently studying criminal justice at the Central CT State University, I hope to become a Lawyer. I love music thus the reason why I play instruments like accordion, drums and keyboard. I honestly did not learn it but I had it in me, and plus I was very adventurous when I was a kid. My grandparents from both my Dad and mum side were all musicians; my parents are musicians as well. So we can all see it’s inbuilt. I started singing in church at the age of 3years as well as acting. I get along with any body because I’m always humble and respectful, yet very determined. On top of all, I consider myself a Christian.


Ghana Music.com: How has the music journey been so far?

Oheneba P. K.: Has been very tough but I have never thrown in the white towel. I have been actually promoting myself a lot. That’s my target as far as my music career is concerned. I will put the name of our beloved country on the international music chart. I have encountered a lot of obstacles, but fear and failure means nothing to me


Ghana Music.com: How would you define your album?

Oheneba P. K.: A masterpiece album which is very good for hearing. Both the youth and adult can relate to it because of the fast pace and relaxing songs. The album actually dwells much on subjects like love, faith, believe, patience, trust, respect and honour.


Ghana Music.com: How many albums do you have now?

Oheneba P. K.: This is my maiden release.


Ghana Music.com: Did u feature some other artistes on the album?

Oheneba P. K.: Yes. Kweisi Appeh (Danta), Abena Sarfo, and my cousin, Ghana’s most sought after engineer - Marx Morris Babyface were very helpful on the album.


Ghana Music.com: You have a close relation with Morris Babyface. Do you think that can help you with the album?

Oheneba P. K.: He really did a great job by showing me love. He is versatile and can relate to anything. This album can really get far. I do rely on God, and also the showbiz (Ghanaian internet websites, TV stations and all radio stations as well).


Ghana Music.com: Since you are based in US, how are you planning to promo the album down here?

Oheneba P. K.: Family Tree Entertainment is handling my promotions at the moment and I am hoping they do a great job.


Ghana Music.com: When is the album launch and what’s gonna happen?

Oheneba P. K.: On July 14th 2007, 30 Old Robert street in East Hartford - Connecticut. Special artistes like Ded Buddy, Nana Fremah, Tony Montana, Danta (Kweisi Appeh), Akwadaa Meko, Kwesoul, Kade-Bodamfour, Ahenfie Nkwadaa, G-Luva, Atakus, and many more will be there to support and cheer up the occasion.


Ghana Music.com: How different are you from other artistes?

Oheneba P. K.: I write a lot, do my own backups, arrange, rap, ragga, direct music and videos, sing, and a very ‘tuff’ performer.


Ghana Music.com: Who is the executive producer of the album and the name of the record label handling you?

Oheneba P. K.: Alfred Priddy is the executive producer and I’m under “Priddae Productions”.


Ghana Music.com: After the album launch, what next?

Oheneba P. K.: I will keep on promoting the album, doing some few shows, and start working in the studio on my R&B album for the international scene. I will also start going to a lot of auditions for my acting career.

Oheneba P. K.: May the Almighty God Bless each and everyone who have contributed to my success. Knowledge is one root to success, and talent is a true blessing. To my fellow brothers and sisters who are struggling to make it, never lose hope, trust in God and do the right thing.
