Castro's Out With "Damages"

Have you ever wondered who has re-sung George Jahraa?s Sradinam? Well save your breath because Castro is the man behind it and other songs on his debut album, Damages.

Castro?s Sradinam, which is now very popular on the airwaves, featuring Triple M (an all girls music group), Bola Bird and Damarians. Sradinam the first song on the album and perhaps the best on Damages has already established itself in the hearts of music fans.

Other songs on Damages are Ewo Tima. In this particular song, Castro describes his woman as next to perfection and even goes further to say that if all women were like his woman, then men would have no cause to suffer.

Featuring Powder in Mangyi Ndi provided him with a professional touch in this particular song.  Mangyi Ndi is a blend of both hiplife and highlife with a rap by Powder.

Another song on the album that is worth mentioning is Anihaw. It is a Ga song that cautions ladies not to be lazy, since laziness can kill. One thing that baffled me as I listened to this song was how he came up with such mind-boggling lyrics for his rap in Ga.

Feeling Bam on side B features Taliban, which is a highly danceable song. It is a song that describes his lover as a fruit that never gets finished. Feeling Bam has a very good tune and it is bound to be enjoyed by club goers. In this particular song, Castro himself is heard rapping in both Twi and Ga.

Abusua and Dadese can not be left out as one assesses Castro?s Damages. Abusua, which features J.Q, talks about how his family and friends do not know him now that he is poor but are bound to come to him when he makes it to the top.

Dadese, on the other hand, is a Jama song that features Taliban. Lovers of rap music can check on Castro Destroyer. It raises so many controversial issues ranging from politics to the hypocrisy of most people in the society. It also features Taliban.

From all indications, Castro is bound to make it to the top in music with just a little more effort on his part.
