Adansiman Himuliate Okwawu United 4-0

Obuasi based Adansiman FC yesterday outplayed and routed premier division club Okwawu United 4-0 at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in a friendly match in preparations towards the division one league.

Adansiman FC?s recent outings under the new leadership of Mr. Amoako, a Kumasi based businessman assisted by a former chairman of the club Mr. Davasford Akowuah have been impressive. Adansiman beat AshGold Under-20 side 3-2 at the Ofori Stadium and managed a 4-0 over Okwawu. A return encounter at the Nkwakaw has been arranged this weekend that promises to be a cracker.

The chairman of Okwawu United Mr. Oduro Nyarko did not mince words after the match saying ?we came into this game with our second string side and we intend to beef up the squad in the return encounter.?

Adansiman made early incursions to find the opener immediately after the blast of the whistle when Ben Garzi beat his marker in the 3rd minute but missed that clear chance with only the keeper of the visitors to beat. The skipper of Adansiman Nana Anokye nearly caused his side when he fumbled with the ball in the 18yard box but Frank Duku in post for Adansiman saved the situation. Adansiman could have registered a cricket score line in the first half but wasted most of the glorious chances that fell their way to the disappointment of the fans. The deadlock was however broken in the 19th minute when Zeberu Sulemana outran the defenders of Okwawu and placed the ball at the wrong side of Eben Clearland registering the first goal of the afternoon.

Adansiman dominated and created several scoring chances but could not make good use of several chances that came their ways to the relief of the visitors. Okwawu defence setup was so porous coupled with jittery attackers that allowed the goalie of Adansiman register a holiday.

Adansiman increased the score line in the 51st minute when Zeberu Sulemana?s bicycle kick zoomed straight into the net with the defenders of Okwawu caught ball watching. Adansiman effected changes with Moses Nyame, Peter Boadi and Felix Owusu Anan replacing Zonda Chuku, Wilson Andoh and Kwesi Nketsia in the 55th, 66th and 67th minutes respectively.

The substitution effected by Assistant coach Thomas Abbew brought bite the third goal for Adansiman in the 68th minute when Justice Dazie?s long drive went straight into the net attracting applause from the fans. 4 minutes after the third goal Abu Issaf dummied three defenders of Okwawu and intelligently placed the at the wrong side of the goalie of the visitors for the fourth goal in favour of Adansiman until the referee brought proceedings to an end.

After the match Adansiman?s new chairman Mr. Amoako pointed out that the exercise was meant to try some of the new recruits who had been signed to lift the mantle. He said ?if the new guys are properly blended with the old ones Adansiman could surely qualify for the middle league and for that matter regain admission into the premiership that has been the main objective for Adansiman.?
