Enoch Kofi Adu scores equaliser for Malmo

Enoch Kofi Adu scored a 68th-minute equaliser to help Malmo FF to a 3-3 draw away at Falkenbergs FF in the Allsvenskan.

Visiting Malmo fell 2-0 down after a dreadful three-minute spell in the first half, and twice came from behind to secure a point.

Victory sees Age Hareide’s side move to the top of the Swedish top flight, but they will be anticipating that Elfsborg will overtake them once again when they travel to Halmstads BK on Saturday.

Malmo were dealt a blow early on when they lost Agon Mehmeti, forcing him off and bringing Jo Inge Berget on in his place.

The Blues were unsettled by the change and were 2-0 down 10 minutes later when Christoffer Carlsson and Stefan Rodevaag gave the home side the advantage.

Malmo started the second half at a much quicker tempo and Berget halved the deficit just after the break, before Pawel Cibicki pulled them back level with a 51st-minute effort.

They couldn’t build on the draw, however, and hosts Falkenbergs retook the lead on 57 minutes when Nigerian forward Hakeem Araba put the ball past Robin Olsen.

Malmo rallied, and came back into the match on 68 minutes when Adu found the net with a clinical finish, but they were unable to push on and find a fourth.

The former OGC Nice and Liberty Professionals man is having a mixed start to the new Swedish season; he was sent off against GIF Sundsvall at the beginning of April, before featuring in Malmo’s victories over IFK Gothenburg and Hammarby.

Ghanaian midfielder Enock Kwakwa was an unused substitute for the home side.
