Kyikyiss retains seat at Mess Tennis

Samuel Ampadu-Kyei, popularly called ‘Kyikyiss’ has been retained as president of the 4 Garrison Officers mess Tennis Club.

Kyikyiss, who was unopposed, polled 36 out of the 40 valid votes cast, during the elections held on Saturday.

He is therefore expected to lead the club, which is made up of high profile personalities in Kumasi, for the next two years.

The Vice President position was won by Dr. Kojo Ansah, who amassed a staggering 38 of the 40 valid votes cast.

Robert Tetteh’s huge popularity at the club came to bear as he won 37 votes to hold onto the organizer position.

Kwabena Asiamah and Brenda Sutinga won the Treasurer and Secretary positions respectively, with 38 votes each.

Apart from Kyikyiss and Robert who were part of the old administration, the other elected members are new.

Since he assumed the mantle of the presidency two years ago, Kyikyiss has brought massive transformation to the Mess Tennis Club.

The club has seen a major facelift under his able leadership, promoting tennis as a sport in the Garden City.

Kyikyiss was instrumental in the provision of floodlights, changing rooms and new tennis courts at the facility.

Following his huge accomplishments for the club, it therefore came as no surprise when he contested the enviable seat unopposed on Saturday.
