Ghana Coach evasive on team tactics

Ghana coach Avram Grant is uncertain about his game plan ahead of the quarter-final match against Guinea on Sunday, February 1, at the Estadio De Malabo, Malabo in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The coach is not sure of using his initial 3-5-2 formation or 4-4-2 formation saying you cannot go into a game with one system, so I can’t tell how I am going to approach the game.

He said at a post-match press conference, that, he was still looking at his players, their fitness level and other factors before taking a firm decision.

“I have 23 players in camp and they all made it to the team on merit and any of them can be called to play in the game.

“In the first game we missed Gyan but the team played well, so I don’t have an idea of who will play in the game and who will not play.” He stated.

According to the coach, winning a game is not all about tactics, but character and experience.

The coach said, tactics could play a role in a game, character and experience are also very influential.

He noted that, his team will rely on all the three qualities to triumph over the Guineans who made it to the quarter-finals after the Confederation of Africa Football drew a lot between them and Mali.

The two West African sides, tied up after all the three matches ended in a draw.
