Sumaila ready to power Al Qadsia to glory

Ghanaian centre back Rashid Sumaila is eager to help his Kuwaiti side Al Qadsia to maintain the domestic league title and also go all out in the Asian Champions League.

The hugely talented defender who is owned by Mamelodi Sundowns joined the Kuwaiti champions three days ago on a six-month loan deal and is already looking up to the challenge.

“I want to help my team to defend their league title and again help them in the Asian Champions League qualifiers and other challenges ahead,” Sumaila told Goal Ghana.

“It is a great club with a great history in Kuwaiti football and I will do my best to help them win more laurels.”

Sumaila who was part of Ghana’s 2014 World Cup squad has also featured for Ebusua Dwarfs and Kumasi Asante Kotoko all in Ghana.
