Avram Grant’s tactical lifeline!

The Israeli trainer of the Black Stars Avram Grant whose tactical prowess is under a serious scrutiny has Algeria to beat to convince many his turner will be better than Coach Kwesi Appiah.

Avram Grant whose Black Stars side lost painfully to Senegal faced similar problem after joining Partizan Belgrade.

Coach Grant had then joined Partizan Belgrade in the Serbian league when his predecessor, Aleksandar Stanojevic, left behind a 10 points gap over the second placed side but three consecutive losses cut the points to one.

The Partizan Belgrade fans were so unhappy with Grant and his inability to beat Partizan’s fiercest rival, Red Star Belgrade, on three derbies agitated the fans more.

The Partizan fans began to call for Stanojevic to be re-instated. Avram Grant defeat against Senegal has paved questions of why Kwasi Appiah was not allowed to remain in – charge of the Black Stars.

Ghana plays Algeria today and it seems to be Avram Grant’s chance to gain public confidence. Grant has been blamed for the team’s defeat and must at least salvage a point in the game to remain in the tournament.
