Jawula, Joe Addo back Konadu for AFCON 2015

Former chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Alhaji Mohamed N.D. Jawula has backed calls for stand-in coach of the Black Stars Maxwell Konadu to lead the team to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

Speaking on GTV Sports Plus on Sunday, Alhaji Jawula noted that, the playing body is well known by the stand-in coach and will be the best to handle the team at the competition.

According to Alhaji Jawula, a new coach will have limited time to know the team and prepare them well for the competition as compared to a new coach.

He said the GFA must also augment the technical team for the competition with other young coaches like Didi Dramani, Joe Addo to offer the needed technical guidance to coach Konadu to succeed.

He noted that Avram Grant could be on board to study the team for a possible takeover after the competition.

Former captain and the current Corporate Affairs Manager of Accra Hearts of Oak, Joe Addo also backed the suggestion of Alhaji Jawula.

He added that would-be coach Avram Grant could be attached to the team as the technical director to coach Konadu.

According to Addo, the move will provide the technical with much strength to compete at the continental level.
