All set for DJ Hathramani championship

Officials of the Ghana Table Tennis Association have confirmed that all is set for the 2014 D.J Hathramani Championship at the Accra Sports Stadium on the 22nd of November.

Defending Champions Derek Abrefa and Cecilia Baa Danso will be hoping to defend their respective titles they won in 2013.

Over 50 top table tennis players from 9 regions have all assembled in Accra and have started training in earnest ahead of the games on Saturday.

Head coach of Ghana Table Tennis Association Owusu Ansah says this competition alone will not reward the winners but it will help the Association unearth talents for future international competitions.

“This competition is not aiming to reward top and individual players, but it will help the association to unearth talent in the near future.”

“We have some competitions next year and what we are aiming for next year is to get top and new players who are very hungry to unearth.”
