Nukpeza makes-u turn over resignation threat

Chief Coach for Ghana Athletics Association, Albert Nukpeza has made a U-turn after incumbent president of the Ghana Athletics Association, Professor Duodo retained his seat in the just ended GAA elections.

Prior to the GAA Elections, the Chief Coach, Albert Nukpeza confirmed to sportscrusader.com in an exclusive interview that he will step down from his position if the incumbent wins the elections.

Duodo retained his seat on the 14th of November after 11 of the 19 delegates voted for him as against the 8 who voted for former Chairman George Lutterodt during the GAA Congress.

Nukpeza branded Professor Duodo as an incompetent leader and admitted he will resign as an executive member representing coaches in the Ghana Athletics Association.

“I think that I was misquoted because I said I will resign from my post, they should have asked me which position I was referring to.”

“I am the chief coach for Athletics and an employee of the National Sports Authority representing the association’s board.”

“I said I will resign as an executive member representing the coaches on the Ghana Athletics Association but not as a chief coach.”

Meanwhile, Nukpeza again revealed that there were unforeseen hands that helped incumbent president Professor Duodo retain his seat.

“He knows what he did, he won the elections and he knows what he did, that’s simple, he is incompetent and there is no way some people like me will support him.”

“The delegates were misinformed and threatened by him and we will all account for it one day.”
