Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is in line to make a shock return from injury in time to play a part in Wednesday’s crucial 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo in Tamale.

The Al Ain hit man, excluded from caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu’s 23-man squad due to injury, was on the bench as the Black Stars crushed to a 1-0 defeat to Uganda on Saturday afternoon.

Gyan has been sidelined for the past three weeks with a thigh injury but has been involved in full-scale training.

In Kampala, he was involved in low runs and Konadu refused to rule him out of playing a part in the match but was unused at the Mandela Stadium in Kampala.

Africanfootball.com understands Gyan will make himself available for selection for the game against Togo.

The Black Stars, who are at the summit of Group E, need to avoid defeat against the Hawks to progress to next year’s finals in Equatorial Guinea.
