â??Ayariga must apologise to Ghanaiansâ??

Former deputy Youth and Sports Minister, O.B. Amoah has called on Sports Minister, Mahama Ayariga, to apologise to Ghanaians over claims that Ghana has the capacity to host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations if Morocco pulled out as the host nation.

"I believe all this started with the Sports Minister (Mahama Ayariga), he has to find a way of apologizing to Ghanaians because he has been in government for some time now he should know how government works," He told Starr Fm.

“If a major matter like hosting AFCON 2015 has not been referred to cabinet and the president, he has no business to come out that we are ready to host the competition,” Mr. Amoah said.

Morocco had petitioned CAF to reschedule the 2015 tournament due to the outbreak of the Ebola virus.

But the African football governing body declined the request and made a proposal to Ghana and South Africa to be on standby as option for the tournament scheduled for 17th January to 8th February 2015.

Morocco later denied the media reportage of the country’s disinterest in hosting the mundial.

According to the WHO the deadly virus has claimed over 4500 lives.
