Kotoko to play Bofoakwa on Saturday

Giants, Asante Kotoko have agreed to play former premier league side Tano Bofoakwa on Saturday in a pre-season friendly as they await the commencement of the 2014/15 league season.

The match will be played at the Coronation Park in Sunyani, and will afford both clubs the chance to test their readiness for their respective league campaigns.

Operations Manager of Kotoko, George Kennedy, said he expects Bofoakwa to give his club a good test.

In an interview with Moonlight FM in Sunyani, George Kennedy said, “We are coming to Sunyani for the first time since we won the league last season so we expect our fans in Brong Ahafo to come and show their adoration to the boys, especially our new players like Ahmed Toure, Emmanuel Asante, Obed Owusu, Sarfo Gyamfi”.

“Our target is to defend the double (League and FA cup) we won last season and also make a meaningful impact in next edition of the CAF Champions League. The match, no doubt will bring out the best in our team.”

Bofoakwa Tano, who are seeking a return to the elite division, seven years after their demotion, are now coached by former Real Sportive coach Sulley Mohammed.
