Management did not instigate players - GFA Boss

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), has denied rumours that, the management instigated players of the Black Stars to boycott training sessions ahead of the game against Portugal, to demand for their appearance fee.

Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the GFA, told the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry on Wednesday, that, there was no way management could have instigated players against the nation.

According to Nyantakyi, negotiations for appearance fee were not negotiated by only the GFA, but officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) and the seat of government.

“My Lord if management was in bed with the players, there was no way a player will assault a member of the management team.

On code of ethics, the GFA president said, some players have signed, whilst others were yet to do so.

According to Nyantakyi, those who have not signed have up to the next game against Guinea to complete the process. He was confident the players will abide by the directive in due course.

Nyantakyi indicated that, players after years of experience turn into politicians and wants to dictate the pace.

He cited Samuel Eto Ó Fills of Cameroon, who at a point was taking decisions on who to play and who to coach the team.

“We need to understand the psychology of the players as managers to take decisions.” He stated.
