Jordan Ayew leaves Marseille for Lorient

Ghana attacker, Jordan Ayew has joined Ligue One side, Lorient on a four-year deal.

The former Ghana U20 player has been linked to several clubs in the past few weeks after it became clear that he was no more needed at Marseille.

Ayew, who played for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil chose Lorient ahead of his other suitors.

"It was not a difficult choice because this is a fantastic and progressive club.

"The club is ambitious and they have a great structure," Ayew told BBC.

"The atmosphere is good, the facility is great and you have everything in place to focus on football.

"This is the perfect place for me, and I am really looking forward to joining the squad and continue in this competitive championship [Ligue 1].

"All I want to do is give my best to the club and hopefully it will be a successful time for everyone associated with the team," he added.

Ayew spent the second half of last season on loan at Sochaux.
