Asamoah Gyan beats Cristiano Ronaldo as World Top Scorer

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has been adjudged World Top Scorer for the month of June, beating FIFA Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the ranking by IFFHS.

Gyan scored three goals in total- two at the World Cup finals and one in the pre-tournament friendly against South Korea.

With already 10 goals per the criteria used by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics, the Al Ain player has tallied 13 goals.

Ronaldo is in second place with a total of 11 goals.

Brazil’s Neymar and France’s Karim Benzema come in third place with 9.

Neymar scored most country goals with 8 and Gyan is the highest club goal scorer with 10.
