They wanted some time so that they can split up the FIFA money among themselves and the politicians and give the players a pittance or none of the money that FIFA was going to give to the GFA for the team for appearing appearing!
Having your family with you at such tournaments is a stabilizing force for the men... and not the opposite. It is actually insulting to think that it is a detriment to the players! Treating the players as if they are boys and not grown men who take their sport, career, livelihood seriously. So suppose the World cup were being played in Ghana, would you ban these players from seeing thier families?

They should also be made to address the alleged match fixing plot by some of their ranks - Specifically why the president was even meeting to allegedly "arrange" friendly matches, when the world cup was about to start in just a few days.

Now you are confessing your own weakness, this is hypocrisy after refusing to act well yourself. They were right to fight for their appearances fee as experiences has shown that anything could have happen. Is never done, the fees must have to be paid before and that is best practice world wide, no excuse. What is point carrying so mush officials and them living on the tax payer? they also got allowances. The players can not be blamed, no but blame what happened leading to late payments of the fees. My take on this is that unfortunate as it may be, most of these players may think Appiah is a coach for amateurs, and they are professionals being trained by some world class coaches at their clubs. Do we see what is wrong here? How can a coach of amateur grade be coaching professionals? This is not in any way to downgrade Appiah; the man is out of his depth in this whole saga. If we are to blame, then, blame the guys that appointed him. They shld have known that the appointment would creat credibility issues and ultimately issues of mutual respect. Frankly, I pity the guy for being put in that untenable situation, and all for what, this public humiliation? C'mon, GFA, get a life; try and get this issue right.

Boateng Gyan please cease and desist, the coach should step down graciously including yourself in whatever capacity/position you fill in the affairs of the Black Star. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander; if the chairman can take his wife, he has set a very bad example for the players to follow. It is only in Ghana that National players are treated like second class citizens....if Ghana wants to play internationally, they should follow the international world and treat the players like super stars...do not stress them over money, put them in the best hotels etc then and then only can we hold them accountable if/when they fail.

His presence and other FA executive members was not in any way important. Monies spent on them could be used to improve accommodation and other logistic conditions for the betterment of the tourney. Who is he if not NDC to suggest this nonsensicals.
