Olympiakos close in on Frimpong

Olympiakos are on the verge of giving Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong a lifeline after being released by Barnsley.

According to the Voice, the 22-year-old free agent has popped up on the radar of the Greece outfit to give them a youthful touch in midfield.

Frimpong started his career at Arsenal and rose through the ranks to attain first-team status, but his progression was hampered by injuries.

Championship side Ipswich have also expressed an interest in the Ghanaian but the challenge of Champions League could prove too much for Frimpong to resist, the report added
