I agree with most of the points in this article..... the only point I disagree with is the point about complacency. I do not think we were complacent at all........ Many of us knew that USA will be crying out for revenge after losing to us twice and therefore knew it would be a tough game....however, looking at the group, it was on paper the easiest game for us, and that is why we spoke about beating USA and maybe trying to draw with Portugal.
A lot of the noise before the game was also to give ourselves and the players some self confidence....... it was a "if you say it enough times, you start to believe it" type scenario...... we were not making noise because we were taking the game for granted, we were making noise to give ourselves some small confi!.

I agree with the rest of the points, including the tactical bankruptcy point. I usually jump to the defence of AA most of the time, but the facts you have stated in that paragraph cannot be disputed.

They lost because your Coach is retarded! He was at sea for the whole duration of the game! The signal was there in the 1st minute of the game---that Jon Mensah should have been replaced---but he didn't realise it!

Most people do not know that American football is growing at a very fast pace. In the next 10 years USA will be one of the top 3-5 football nations. Where most people will like to play soccer like England, Spain, Germany and Italy. Americans will never sit down for you(Ghana) to be defeating them always. They will analyse and prepare to fix all the reasons why they lost their previous games. Look, if there is a country which citizens are prepared to defend it to death, then give it to Americans. They represent their country willing to do what it takes to make their nation proud. When they have a known problem, guaranteed, they will search for solution. What was the problem before this world cup, defeat Ghana. That is Why their coach was hired just after the South Africa 2010. Modern football needs high level technical planning just as a team needs good players. African teams will never go pass quarter finals until we learn to Manage our teams well and plan instead of relying on only good players and juju. What the Ghana needs is a local Black Stars team that is well trained to represent the country well, not foreign-based players who are only called to represent the country when there is a major tournament like the WC. These local Black Stars should be well compensated when they win a match, to boost their morale. The government should not make empty promises. Promises, once made, should be kept.

It's important that the players always play together. They study each other and complement each other better. This is one of strengths of the US team. How many US are foreign-based players? Most, if not all of them, are home-based and they have always played together. There is a togetherness in the way they play. They know each other's strength and weakness, and know how to cover each other well. Our problem is that most of our players are foreign-based players. They are a bunch of strangers thrown together in the name of the Black Stars. Individually, the players are very good but as a team, there's a lot to learn. Anyway, there still two more games to be played. The coach should get his tactics right and learn from his mistakes.
