GFA unaware of United's intention to quit league

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says it is yet to receive notification from Bechem United about their intention to withdraw from top-flight football. Bechem feel embittered after their application for stay of execution to a one home match ban was rejected.

This means they would have to play their match day 27-fixture against Aduana Stars on a neutral ground. Media reports say the Hawks are considering pulling out of the league because of ‘unfair’ treatment.

“Officially, Bechem United have not written to the FA to present to us their case with regards to boycotting the league,” Ghana FA spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie-Daara told Anigye FM.

“So the FA can’t comment or respond to that. If they write officially to present to us their case, it is then that we can write back to them,” he added.
