Thieves have broken into a two-bedroom apartment of Asante Kotoko legend Frimpong-Manso and made off with valuable items.
The head coach of BA United was at training with his charges on Wednesday morning whiles the burglars made their way into his Sunyani-based house. The police have apprehended one person in connection with the crime.
“I returned from training only to see my front gate ajar after they have made away with all the items they could carry along,” Frimpong-Manso told Goal Ghana. “They took away some clothes, rice cooker, footballs, training kits, money and other things I cannot quantify as at now.”
He added: “This is not in connection with any club troubles or rivalry, I believe it's those boys in my area who will not work but always on hard drugs [marijuana] that broke into my room. The place is a very quite area because it's a new estate along the Sunyani-Kumasi road.”
Two people were suspected in connection with the robbery but one has been nabbed and currently in police custody helping with investigations.
“The suspect has admitted to be part of the robbery. He has named one other person who is on the run but I believe in the police to handle the issue perfectly.”
Frimpong-Manso is currently preparing his side for the national division middle league.
