Arsenal scout disappointed as Afriyie Acquah dropped

Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah lost his starting berth in Parma’s team as he was dropped to the bench in their 2-0 home reverse against Inter Milan in the Serie A on Saturday afternoon.

This comes as disappointment for both the midfielder and Arsenal who had reportedly sent their senior scout to assess the Essien-like midfielder to see if he is worth of a summer transfer.

But there was no show for the Ghanaian and the English side would have to bid their time to see the Ghanaian play.

However, it could also a be decision by Parma manager Roberto Donaldoni who has plans to retaining Acquah in his squad for next season as they look set to securing a Europa League action.

The 22-year-old had been enjoying regular playing time under manager Roberto Donadoni but was dropped to the bench as they faced Inter Milan at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

But were handed a painful loss at their own backyard as Antonio Cassano missed a spot-kick while Gianluca Paletta also got sent off as Inter coasted to a comfortable away victory.

Acquah, who is tipped to make Ghana’s provisional World Cup squad following his consistency in the Italian top-flight, has managed 23 games this season, starting 14 and completing just 7 of them.
