ALFOSU educate members on World Cup ticketing

Executives of the All for One Supporters Union (ALFOSU) have with the support of the Ghana Football Association educated their members on procedures for World Cup ticketing, visa and itinerary plan in Brazil for those interested in travelling to South America to support the Black Stars in June.

At its weekly meeting held every Thursday afternoon at the Frankies’ Hotel inside Nima in the Ghanaian capital, ALFOSU executives led by lawyer Seidu H. Nasigri (President), Papa Angola (Vice President), Alhaji Mohammed Sakibu Tajudeen (Patron) as well as founder, Abdul Mohammed Samadu used the occasion to inform members of the deadline for application for World Cup tickets and for that matter the need to start work towards visa acquisition and other important issues regarding travelling to Brazil for this year’s FIFA World Cup where Ghana of course are one of five African countries representing the continent.

Accordingly, members were required to register by the February 4 deadline so as to acquire their match tickets and visas in readiness for the journey though this does not guarantee government sponsorship to the tournament. ALFOSU which has over 20 fans currently in South Africa cheering the Local Black Stars on in the ongoing CHAN, plan to send over 200 fans to Brazil 2014 in the bid for the Black Stars to conquer the world.

GFA Spokesman, Sannie Daara was at hand to explain to ALFOSU members why those planning to make it to the global football fiesta must work with the application deadline of February 4 since the tickets are in high demand and though one could get some later, it may be expensive or not available at all.

“I come here with good wishes from the Ghana Football Association and we thank you for continued support and cheers for the Black Stars wherever we play. If you want to buy tickets for the World Cup, I can tell you the group stages you can get a ticket for $90 but when the tournament gets closer you could get it but it may be far expensive,” Mr. Daara said.

He added on sponsorship to the tournament: “Seeking government support will be difficult because it’s very expensive but that does not stop you from asking. You’d have to also shape public opinion that supporters are very important to the team’s victory. Supporters are very important because you risk your lives, leave your businesses and time to travel far to support us.”

ALFOSU patron, Alhaji Mohammed Sakibu Tajudeen thanked Sannie Daara and the GFA for their immense contribution to the recognition of fans by government and Ghanaians at large.

ALFOSU have also planned to hold a press conference at the same venue on Tuesday to explain to government and Ghanaians why fans must be sponsored in their numbers to support the Black Stars in Brazil.
