Quaye fights for C'wealth title on March 1

Ghana’s Isaac Quaye would be gunning for the Commonwealth Flyweight title on March 1, against Kevin Satchell of the United Kingdom.

The fight scheduled for Aintree Equestrian Centre, Liverpool, would see the Ghanaian going in with a record 25 wins with 16 knockouts, four losses and one draw against the undefeated British.

The Brit is undefeated from 11 bouts, with two knockouts.

Quaye, who has been camping in Togo for the past weeks in preparation for the fight told the GNA Sports that, the fight presents to him a life-time opportunity in his career and he would give it all the seriousness it deserves.

He said, the decision to shift camp to Togo was due to the seriousness he was attaching to the fight adding that he was in the best of conditions and ready to take on the British.

“I know he is undefeated. It shows how strong he is and how difficult the fight would be, but am prepared for him.

“I am poised to end his unbeaten run and to place myself among the best in the Commonwealth division”. He noted.

Commenting on his camping in Togo, Quaye described it as a very good exercise because it gave him the needed exposure for the international scene.

According to Quaye, he had the opportunity to train with other boxers in other weight categories, which has toughened him up for the challenge.
