Language barrier has been a challenge in Russia - Waris

Black Stars striker, Abdul Majeed Waris has in an exclusive interview with footy-ghana.com revealed that his struggles with Spartak Moscow are as a result of the language barrier.

Waris, who has scored just a single goal in the Russian Premier League is struggling with the Russian language and he is eager to learn as early as possible to aid his performances on the field of play.

“When I started playing for my new team the problem I faced was the Russian language. It’s very difficult to learn and I think that was the reason why I was unable to play well and score more goals, because as a footballer you have to communicate well with your teammates on the field of play and that can help you individually.

That is the main reason why I couldn’t start well, but before the end of the season I started getting more games and that is ok for me. I even scored a very good goal so all is getting well for my career in Russia. I am just hoping I will be free from injuries next season and go out there and do what I do best play and score more goals for my club.”
