Hearts to drop Sampson Cudjoe pursuit

Accra Hearts of Oak could drop their pursuit of midfielder Sampson Cudjoe should the Medeama SC player embark on his impending trials with Turkish Süper Lig side Denizlispor Kulübü, footy-Ghana.com is reliably informed.

As footy-Ghana earlier revealed, the club which failed to sign this season’s top scorer Mahatma Otoo after a similar trials exercise last summer offered trials opportunities to a Ghanaian quartet involving Cudjoe two months ago and he is set to leave Ghana for his observation by next week after securing his visa.

The 25-year-old has been a subject of interest for Hearts of Oak who have been trailing him for the past 6 months since coach David Duncan took over as head of the technical team of the Phobians.

According to our reliable sources, the midfielder who once worked under Hearts coach David Duncan has held talks with his former gaffer who is keen on a re-union at the Phobian family.

Fall-outs of the talks, Footy-Ghana has gathered, suggests the Hearts of Oak coach is unhappy at Cudjoe’s decision to go on trials with Denizlispor before making a switch from Medeama should the Turkey deal fail.

Our source further reveals that Cudjoe has been told in clear terms to forget a move to join the Phobians if he embarks on his impending trials.

Sources within Medeama management confirm Hearts of Oak have written officially requesting for Cudjoe’s services but tell Footy-Ghana.com that the player has assured the club of completing his remaining contract should a move to Europe fail to materialize.

The former Black Meteors midfielder who once earned a call-up to the Black Stars camp for a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan joined Medeama in a three-year deal last two seasons.
