Uneasy calm at Medeama SC

Footy-ghana.com can confirm that former Tema Youth goalkeeper Joseph Halm is unhappy at Medeama SC because of the alleged withholding of his signing-on fee by the club’s Welfare Officer, Ahmed Barry.
According to our sources, upon signing for Medeama SC. Halm was entitled to receive a signing on fee in the region of GH¢10,000 (¢100 million), with the understanding that he would receive an initial down payment of GH¢5000 (¢50 million).
Footy-ghana.com investigations reveal that sources close to the player are alleging that Barry, who was responsible for disbursing the money to Halm, allegedly resorted to paying the goalkeeper in bits; paying him amounts of GH¢100 and GH¢200 at certain given times.
As a result, footy-ghana.com understands that the bulk of the down payment remains unpaid and the situation has left Halm in a state of aggravated despair.
Halm is reported to have told friends that should the situation not be resolved, he would ask for a transfer from the club at the end of the season.
Halm was a regular for Medeama SC before encountering various injury problems.
He has already been operated on for a problem in the forehead earlier on this season and also lost consciousness for a few minutes during a Premier League first round clash against Real Tamale United.
In a related development, sources close to the Medeama SC management have told footy-ghana.com that contrary to earlier claims that Halm is owed the bulk of his down payment, the goalkeeper has actually received the sum total of GH¢4500, with the money paid to Halm in periodic instalments.
Footy-ghana understands from management sources that Halm is now only owed a sum of GH¢500
