Lawson stops Sowah to win IBF Africa belt

The upcoming Ghanaian boxing sensation, Frederick Lawson demolished his Ghanaian counterpart Isaac Sowah stopping him at 0.43 minutes of round 3 in their nationally televised clash in Accra on Friday night.

The packed Accra Sports Stadium crowd acknowledged that the Lawson-Sowah undercard of Joseph Agbeko’s IBO Bantamweight title victory over Colombian slugger, Luis Melendez had perhaps produced the best fight on the night and at the heart of it all was unbeaten Lawson (who improved to 20-0, 19 KOs) dominating Sowah with terrific jabs and uppercuts.

The obviously excited fans cheered right from the very first round of the fight promoted by Agbeko’s own Fresh King Entertainment, boxing promotions under the supervision of IBF Africa President, Onesmo Ngowi of Tanzania.

“Frederick’s future is now green and nothing can hold him down from climbing the ladders to reach his kind of sky in his boxing career,” Mr. Ngowi said post fight.
