Wakaso and Dauda should not be swollen-headed - Barnes

The former Ghana player has counseled the two players not to get ahead of themselves despite the great reviews at the 2013 Afcon.

Former Black Starlets skipper Sebastian Barnes has stated Black Stars' goalkeeper Fatau Dauda and midfielder Mubarak Wakaso should not be swollen-headed by the praise being showered on them by Ghanaians.

Barnes advised the duo to remain calm and to focus on the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

“Today Fatau Dauda and Mubarak Wakaso are the best,” the Under-17 coach of Bundesliga side Bayer Munich told Goal.com Ghana.

“In about six months to a year they will be the scapegoats of Ghana football, just as they did to us and Michael Essien, [Kevin] Prince Boateng, Ayew brothers and the others.”

He added: “These guys should be focused and play their game and they should not be swollen-headed by these praises; only one mistake they will be branded.”

Barnes also urged the team to go for the ultimate which will propel the Ghana FA to give other local coaches the chance.
