Wakaso to miss Ghana-Niger game

Ghana will seek to wrap up qualification to the next stage of the Africa Cup of Nations without Wakaso Mubarak for card accumulation.

Mubarak, who scored Ghana's only goal in their second Group B game picked a yellow card having revealed an underwear beneath his shirt following his 36th minute goal from the spot.

The midfielder's showing which revealed an "Allah is Great" inscription and contravenes the laws of the game earned him his second yellow card in two games.

The accumulation means the debutant who has been entrusted with executing the Black Stars' set pieces at the tournament that ends on February 10, will be lost in action when the team lines up against Niger on Monday.

Mubarak becomes the first Ghanaian player to miss a game due to card accumulation.

He is however expected to return to the first team should the Black Stars make it to the last eight.

Ghana has amassed four points from a possible six and will be needing a win over Niger to authenticate a place in the quarters.

The Black Stars are seeking to end Ghana's three decade Nations Cup drought at the biannual gathering.
