G/A Sports Authority confer honours on workers

Accra, Jan. 20, GNA - The Greater Accra Regional Sports Authority has organized an awards ceremony to reward workers of the regional office, who distinguished themselves in the year 2012.

At a brief ceremony in Accra, Samuel Ahia Nettey, was adjudged the Best Accounts Officer and subsequently overall Best Worker and took home a cash prize of 300.00ghc, certificate and a citation.

Coach Amuzu Logosu won the best Athletics Coach and received certificates, citation, and assorted canned products, whilst Edmund Kwame Kpeglo a senior Basketball Coach was recognized as the most Disciplined Staff and received certificates and assorted food products.

Philip Ayi Tawiah was adjudged the best driver and for his reward, he took home, a certificate, citation, kente cloth and cash prize of 150.00ghc, whilst Ezekiel Tetteh won the best Security Officer award and received certificate and a cash prize of 150.00gh, with Edward Sosa Mensah going home with the best Driver award and was also rewarded with 150.00 and certificate.

Daniel Lartekwei Lartey, assistant Boxing Coach and Justice Korbla Adjasoo Senior Volleyball coach were rewarded as Best Coaches and took home certificates, citation and 150.00ghc cedis each, with Nicodemus Dzah as the best Principal Executive Officer, whilst Gifty Korshie Mills took home the best Stenographer Secretary.

Dzah and Korshie Mills also went home certificates and 150.00ghc each. Kwame Amponfi Jr, Regional Sports Director praised the winners for their efforts in enhancing the work of the authority in the region.

He urged the workers to work hard to lift the image of the region. Madam Alice Attipoe, Acting Director General of the National Sports Authority also congratulated the winners and tasked them to be punctual at work and develop measures at marketing the image of the authority.
