Yahaya Mohammed gutted by injury setback

Midfielder Yahaya Mohammed has expressed his disappointments over his inability to play at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 24-year-old was left out of the Ghana squad after he picked up an injury while playing for Amidaus Professionals in a Premier League game at Berekum Chelsea.

The on-loan Asante Kotoko intelligent midfielder has been ruled out of action for up to a month, meaning he will not recover in time ahead of the start of tournament on January 19.

The former OCG Nice attacking midfielder says he is gutted by the news.

“I am very sad because I really wanted to play in the competition but I guess God knows best,” Mohammed said

“I felt pains in my thigh and thought it was a normal thing. But when I contacted the Black Stars doctor he said I will need up to four weeks to recover.

“The coach called me to express his disappointments over the injury.

“I have taken it in good faith. There are more games after the Nations Cup.”
