Yussif Abubakar coy on his move to Chelsea

Former Hearts of Oak coach Abubakar Yussif has chosen to remain quiet and secretive on his potential move to Berekum Chelsea and denied some media reports circulating that he had been appointed as the substantive coach of Chelsea.

“The club approached me but we are still in negotiations,” he said. He also added that he has not made his final decision yet.

“I want to make it clear that I am the football coach of FC Medeama and I am still in contract with the club,” he disclosed. Abubakar Yussif also affirmed that his choice will be known soon.

The 2010 Premier League Champions Berekum Chelsea are urgently looking for a fresh football instructor after appointing their former coach Hans van der Pluym as the new technical director.

Chelsea must find a permanent coach in time ahead of the start of the upcoming season on October 7.

Abubakar Yussif worked as assistant coach at Chelsea during the early stages of last season’s premier league before leaving to join Medeama.
