Let Us Cheer Our Stars In One Piece

The National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) extends its best wishes to the Black Stars of Ghana at the ongoing 28th edition of the AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon as they seek to break the 30-year wait for a 5th Continental title.

Like many a soccer fan, the NRSC remains confident in the abilities of the team and expectant of support from millions of soccer fans across the country to emphasize the significance of the “twelfth player” to the dream of a 5th Continental title.

However, it is our wish to urge road users and soccer fans to be cautious in their support for the Black Stars. Soccer fans should shy acts that will endanger their lives and that of other road users particularly drink driving, use of mobile phones while driving, spontaneous jubilation of goals especially on busy roads and high speeds while we celebrate with the Black Stars.

“It takes dedication and team work to deliver trophies and safer roads. These virtues, known to the Black Stars who have since 2011 become global and national ambassadors for road safety will be worthy a motivation to deliver on our expectation of a trophy this year. I wish them a good run of matches” says Noble John Appiah, Executive Director of the NRSC.

The Commission wishes to remind all road users that, while high speed is responsible for about 60% of all road crashes in Ghana, alcohol slows down your reaction time, increases risk and gives a false sense of confidence.

Let us obey the traffic rules while we stay alive to celebrate the goals.

Go Ghana, Go Black Stars Road Safety, My Responsibility! Road Safety, ?y? m’as?de?!

Thank you
