Second leg of SWAG Cup Match fixed for August 29

Accra, Aug. 20, GNA - The Sports Writers Association of Ghana, (SWAG) has fixed Sunday, August 29, 2010 for the second leg of the SWAG/SIC H.P. Nyemitei Cup Match at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.

The run-away Top Four Champions, Accra Hearts of Oak and runners up of the 2009/10 Premier League winners, Ashantigold will vie for the prestigious H.P. Nyemitei Trophy.

A statement signed by William Dodzi Ezah, acting General Secretary of SWAG said the date was arrived after consultations with the two Clubs and the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

It said the match which is in honour of the late H.P. Nyemitei, a renowned sports administrator and Patron of SWAG will have the two Clubs vying for the enviable trophy in an encounter that will rekindle rivalry between the two sides.

The statement said the two Clubs have given their firm commitment to the event and will parade their best set of players registered for the League in a bid to outwit each other.

According to the statement, the Association will soon announce rates for the match as well as other security details.

The first leg of the match at the Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi ended in a goalless drawn game and the winner of the second leg will walk away with the giant trophy at the stake.
