WC2010: Boateng vs Boateng

With the draw for the 2010 World Cup only hours away, more and more players reveal their wishes of preferred opponents and teams they want to avoid. Germany defender Jerome Boateng has a special reason for his desire to face Ghana though.

"I would be delighted when we end up in the same group as Ghana. My father is from Ghana and it would be a very special game for both of us," said Boateng to Hamburger Morgenpost.

"I am not too keen on facing France or Portugal. We'd be more than happy to stay away from those teams in the group phase."

The 21-year-old Boateng recently made his official debut for Germany's senior side in the World Cup qualifier against Russia.

His older brother Kevin-Prince Boateng has been quite impressive at Portsmouth this season and could very well be called into the Ghana squad after he expressed his desire to represent the African country at international level.
