Indomitable Lions expected today

Yaound?, Cameroon - The Indomitable Lions, Cameroon's national soccer team, arrive in Ghana on Thursday to participate in the 26th Africa Cup of Nations competition, which kicks off on 20 January.

The Cameroonians, who are in Group C, will be based in Kumasi, Ghana's second largest city and play at the 40,000-seat Baba Yara Stadium.

At least 50,000 people on Wednesday watched the team play an exhibition match at Yaound?'s Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium that was broadcast live on national television.

The final squad of 23 selected players selected after their training camp in Burkina Faso was split into two teams for the match, which made it possible for Cameroonians to assess their stars.

The fans are dreaming of a fifth victory for the Indomitable Lions after 1984, 1988, 2000 and 2002.

Star striker Samuel Eto'o, who did not take part in the Burkina Faso training camp because he was retained by his Spanish team, FC Barcelona, played the exhibition match and delighted fans.

Eto'o joined his team mates in the company of a special supervisor sent by the Spanish club to oversee his health.

The other countries in Group C are Egypt, Sudan and Zambia.
