Wurzburg - A home away from home

The Bavarian city of Wuerzburg has held five welcoming parties for Ghana's Black Stars, residents stood in line for tickets to watch them play Brazil, and flags of the west African nation are visible on municipal buildings and in shop windows.

Little wonder the team is in no hurry to move.

"This is our team home base and we're staying here," Ghana FA spokesman Randy Abbey said.

"We love the people of this city. They've been very nice to us, even when we lost. We'll stay here until the 12th of July," added Abbey.

Wuerzburg, a city of 130,000 people famous for its wine festivals, also stages an annual Africa festival.
