We are ready for second round - Lathbridge

Kumasi-based referee Reginald Lathbridge says he and his colleagues are well prepared to continue with officiating as the Glo Premier League resumes this weekend.

Lathbridge told Kumasi-based radio station Angel FM that the latest appraisals and tests done on officials who handled matches during the first round have helped them to correct some mistakes.

''We have just come from Prampram where we learnt about some amendments of the Laws of the game. We also had fitness tests to know our strengths. We have therefore corrected things that were affecting our officiating. So referees are ready to go into the games in this second round.''

He however pleaded with football fans to be calm in case of any mistake on the part of any referee since they are all human beings.

''I cannot say we will perform 100 per cent because as humans we are bound to make mistakes because being more careful and cautious can bring about an error. When that happens it is not intentional. Fans should take it as an error. We will do our best. I pray that at the end Ghanaians would say for once we have had good officiating.''
