Wakaso to undergo medicals in Milan today

Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso will undergo a medicals with Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad on Monday (today) before sealing the deal to join the Jeddah-based club, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 25-year-old’s medical will be conducted in the Italian city of Milan by Bupa Arabia, the official healthcare partner of the Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad.

The 25-year-old’s medical will be conducted in the Italian city of Milan by Bupa Arabia, the official healthcare partner of the Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad.

Wakaso spent last season on loan at Celtic playing under Norwegian manager Ronny Deila, having made the move to Scotland from Russian side Rubin Kazan.

However, he struggled to make an impact at Celtic Park and made just eleven appearances for the Bhoys, chipping in with a single goal, scored in the Europa League.

Wakaso is now in Milan, where he will undergo a medical and, all being well, put pen to paper with Al Ittihad.

The 25-year-old rose to prominence at Spanish sides Villarreal and Espanyol before being taken to Russia by Rubin Kazan in 2013.

At international level Wakaso is an established international with 31 caps and nine goals to his name for Ghana.
