Tema Youth will be filing a case against the promotion of Dreams FC at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on Monday, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The second tier club are through with the necessary paperwork and will be officially lodging the case accompanied by the necessary payment.

“Yes, we are filing today,” Chief Executive Officer of Tema Youth Wilfred Osei confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com.

Tema Youth are challenging the qualification of Dreams FC into Ghana’s Premier League over the use of ‘an unqualified’ player.

Dreams FC emerged top of the Zone 3 standings of the GN Division One League (the national second tier league) over a 30-match period.

They finished 7 points ahead of Tema Youth who want Dreams FC disqualified for using a player with multiple registration.

Player Daniel Gozar has been ruled by the Ghana FA’s Disciplinary Committee to have engaged in fraudulent multiple registrations and have thus been handed a one-year ban.

But efforts to have this ruling affect Dreams FC’s qualification to the Ghanaian top flight has suffered setbacks at the Disciplinary Committee, Appeals Committee and even at Review.

With Tema Youth exhausting all legal avenues to seek redress in this case locally, they are now presented with the opportunity to fight the case internationally at CAS.

CEO of the Tema-based club Wilfred Osei is confident he will get ‘justice’ before the international adjudicative body.

“When we said we wanted justice, it wasn’t just for show,” he said.

“We are going to the full lengths available to us to ensure that justice is served.”

Once the case is properly filed, CAS will convene and refer the case to the appropriate sub-body to commence hearing of the case with dispatch.

A decision is likely to be reached in time before the tentative start of the 2015/16 Premier League season set for December 20.
