Sept 30: 4x100 metres womes team crushed out of the competition.

Sept 29: Ghana's fancied Olympic 4x100 metres relay team crashed out at the first stage of the competition. Ghana were leading the heat with 50m to go, but Leo Myles-Mills pulled up with what looked like a hamstring strain.
In the first round of the heats Women's 4x100 team qualified for the semi's with a time of 43.77 Men's4x400 failed to qualify

Sept 27: WRAPPAH Hellena and TWUM Monica Afia were last in the Women's 200m first round heats.

Men's Athletics 200m Round 1: BRAIMAH Tanko was disqualified and AGYEMANG Albert was 6th and thus failed to qualify

AWERE Mark Anthony did not make it to the finals of the long jump. His best jump was 7.57.

In the 100m races, Vida Nsiah narrowly missed a place in the women's final, and compatriot Leo Myles-Mills also just missed the men's final. Nsiah came fifth in her semi-final.

In the men's 100m dash, Aziz Zakari reached the final, but did not finish the race. Favourite Maurice Greene of the USA won the Gold medal. Finishing results:

8. Aziz Zakari, Ghana, dnf.

Andrew Owusu did not make it to the triple Jump finals. He was 19th with a leap of 14.12

Boxing

Algerian Pan Arabic champion Mohamed ALLALOU scored four points to opponent Ben NEEQUAYE's of Ghana one, for three rounds of their round two bout, the score went to an easy 15 - 6 victory to ALLALOU.

Men's Lt Heavywt 81kg Round 2: FEDTCHOUK Andri (Ukraine) won on pts 13-5 against ADAMU Charles (Ghana)
In the Lightweight division, Raymond Narh of Ghana, who had defeated an East Timorese boxer to get through to the second phase of the tournament, was himself beaten on points (11-17) by Andriy Kotelnyk of Ukraine.
