Satellites host junior Pharaohs

THE national youth soccer team, Black Satellites will host their Egyptian counterparts in an international friendly at the Kumasi Stadium on Sunday.

The duel will be the first of a double header training exercise arranged to fine-tune the two teams for the Africa championship in Ethiopia barely two months from hence.

The second battle comes off at the Accra Stadium next Tuesday.

Currently, the 22 players in the Satellites camp are poised for action and are expected to nail their opponents to the coffin on Sunday.

According to the Satellites head coach, E.K Afranie, everything is moving on well in camp, with all the players responding well to the training schedule.

He hinted that the team will likely feature two new players, namely Amonoo Johnson and Swiss-based John Mensah, both of whom are now in camp.

Also expected to join the Satellites for Sunday's game against the Egyptians are foreign-based professionals Derek Boateng and Anthony Obodai.
