Referee Djomoah for Benin 2005

Accra, Nov. 30, GNA - Referee Nicholas Djomoah of Ghana is among eight assistant referees selected by the Referees' Appointment Committee of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to officiate in the 14th Africa Under-20 Championship to be held in Benin next year.

Mr Djomoah who is based in the Eastern Region is among other assistant referees drawn from Benin, Cameroon, La Cote D'Ivoire, Tunisia, Mali, Rwanda and Algeria to officiate in the competition. They are Aderodjou Aboudou (Benin), Bougani Doda Patrice (Cameroon), Yao Kossonou (La Cote D'Ivoire), Hamoudo Lotfi (Tunisia), Diabete Mousa (Mali), Ntagungira Celestine (Rwanda) and Berramoune Karim (Algeria). Information gathered by the GNA Sports from the Secretariat of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) indicates that referee Djomoah is expected to arrive in Benin by January 11 under a perfect physical condition.

According to a letter faxed to the GFA, any referee who arrives in Benin in a poor physical condition will be sent back to his native country and the FA is expected to confirm his availability by December 5.

The letter, however, asked Mr Djomoah to send his measurements to the headquarters of ADIDAS, Germany latest by December 1, for his equipments to be prepared to his specifications.

Referee Djomoah has for the past years assisted referee Alex Quartey in most international matches across the continent. The central referee's for the two-week tournament are Aguidissou Crespin (Benin), Yameongo David (Burkina Faso), Mve Ndong Pierre (Gabon), Bennete Daniel (South Africa), Djaoupe Kokou (Togo), Imiere Emmanuel (Nigeria) and El Achira Abedellah (Morroco). Ghana will however be missing from the tourney which starts from January 15-29.
